Q: How does Slim.com work?

A: Using Slim.com is very simple.

  • Based on your fitness profile, we'll recommend a daily net calorie target for you to achieve your weight loss (or gain) goals.
  • As you eat throughout the day, you need to log your meals in your SlimNotes Food Journal. Slim will calculate the number of calories and other nutritional values you've consumed for the day. If you stick within your calorie limits and stick to your registered activity level, you should achieve the weight loss you're looking for.
  • The best part is that logging gets easier the more you do it. Slim tracks the foods you enter and makes it easy for you to add those items to your journal. In just a few days, logging can be as fast as 30 seconds — it's literally that easy.
  • Periodically (we recommend once a week), you should weigh yourself and check-in your new weight with the site using our Weigh-In feature. Checking in your weight allows us to track your progress over time and also adjust your calorie goals to reflect your new weight. That's it! Just a few minutes a day can show you so much about what you're eating and how that impacts your health.

Q: Will Slim.com allow people to track their daily physical activity?

A: Yes, tracking physical activity will be available in the forthcoming future as well as customized workout plans. Members will be notified once this feature and other new features become available.

Q: What are Net Calories?

A: Net Calories are calories you’ve consumed throughout the day based on the foods you have eaten. Either by diet, exercise, or both, as long as you stick within your daily target calorie limit, you’re more likely to reach your weight loss goal. For example: If your daily (allowed) Target Calories is 2000 calories and you’ve consumed Net Calories of 2500 for that day, you can burn off the excess 500 calories by exercising to net your goal of 2000 calories for that day.

Q: Can I add a profile picture to my login page?

A: This feature will become available on the next release of Slim.com. Currently, members can use our SlimLook tool to see what they would look like if you lost or gained weight within seconds and then sharing their Before/After picture via email.

Q: Can I get customized meals sent to me to help reach my weight loss goal?

A: This feature will become available on the next release of Slim.com.

Q: Where does Slim.com get its food data?

A: Our food database contains foods that we add depending on the availability of information as well as foods that are suggested by our users. We continue to grow and update our database to enhance the overall experience for our users. In a future release of Slim.com, members will be able to create new food items they do not find in our database, but for now, please contact us or email team@slim.com to add a new food item into our database.

Q: Can I continue to use Slim.com even after reaching my goal?

A: Absolutely. Many members continue using Slim.com for weight maintenance and motivation. If you leave, you may miss out on new site features that’ll make the whole experience more fun!

Q: Why are there ads on the site?

A: Ads on our site allows the Slim team continue site development and keep the site available for free.

Q: Will Slim be available on mobile phones soon?

A: Yes, a mobile app will be available in the forthcoming future.

Q: Can other members see my weight, food diary, or other profile information?

A: No, other members cannot see your weight or any of your personal information. It is only if you choose to share your information by sending it through your login page is when information will be viewable, but only to the person you shared it with.
